City Girls’ Defeat Pemberton in Season Opener

Great Start To Season for City Softball

Burlington City Girls Softball started their season off strong with an outstanding win against Pemberton. City jumped on Pemberton early with a 2-0 by the end of the first inning. In the second inning, Pemberton tied up the game with two over the fence home runs. Burlington City did not hesitate to gain back the lead by putting up three more runs on the board. After the third inning City was up 5-3, freshman Alana Baar had pitched a consistent 3 innings, next on the mound was freshman Cassandra Shea. Shea pitched the last four innings only giving up 4 runs and leading the Blue Devils to their first win of the season, with a final score of 8-7 Burlington City.
